“Professional care for you and your family”

About Us / Practitioner

Werribee Osteo is a family orientated clinic that is passionate in providing quality health care. I pride myself in listening, understanding and educating my patients. I have been in private practice since 2012, after graduating from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Sciences) and a Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy). Initially, I joined a well-established clinic in Geelong and worked within a multi-disciplinary medical centre in Werribee. Wanting to start something new and help people within my local community, I have opened up this practice. I have been treating a wide range of patients from babies, children to the elderly with a variety of techniques that are tailored to suit the individual patient. I have gained additional skills in Dry Needling, which has been very useful in treating chronic soft tissue injuries that won’t resolve. Having 2 children of my own, I have a keen interest in pre and post-natal care, and love assisting women through their pregnancies and post birth. I have also done additional training to help breastfeeding mums with issues such as mastitis/blocked ducts. I have also completed further studies in relation to orofacial issues (for both babies and older children) and am working in conjunction with dentists and lactation consultants.

About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy which involves treating the body as a whole. Osteopaths focus on how the musculoskeletal, nervous system, vascular system and internal organs all function as a UNIT.

Our bodies are all very unique, and each patient will have different factors such as their work, activity level, stress and their body composition that influence their injury.

Osteopaths are trained to assess the whole body and can determine the impact your injury is having on your overall function. We can treat a wide range of issues, aiming to increase the quality and range of movement in the body, at the same time, decreasing the pain and discomfort experienced.

Osteopathic treatment involves stretching and massage of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) along with mobilisation of specific joints, dry needling and a few more techniques. An exercise rehabilitation program may be prescribed in addition to hands on treatment. We also provide nutritional/supplemental advice and ergonomic advice to aid your recovery process.

In Australia, Osteopaths are government registered (under AHPRA) and have undergone university training for a minimum of 5 years in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and osteopathic techniques. We are trained to recognise medical conditions that require further referral or investigations.
